Colorful website - But can do better . Review on Infibeam

I usually prefer online shipping for books, I purchased lot of books online.

I usually use only nbcindia.com for shopping books since due to their good customer support and also very fast delivery(More than once I got books in the very same day, if I order between 12-5 AM, provided you live in Bluedart area). But this time the books I need are unavailable at nbcindia.com, but I dont want to take risk again with indiaplaza.in and sifymall.com due to their high prices and also cheating customer care, I used to get books after 10-15days of delivery. So I decided to try flipkart.com, but on further search I found infibeam.com. I preferred infibeam due to less price and also better rating at mouthshut.com. But that might be their own reviews.

Website design: Website is very simple nice and easy to browse. Seems site design is inspired by amazon.com. Search is also okay, but most times you need to select appropriate section, like if you search a book by title by selecting all stores, it shows 0 found. So, you need to select Books-> then title then search string. This makes All stores useless.

Payment is better to other sites, one click change shipping address is convenient during payment. But payment is by third party CCAvenue, if there is problem either of CCAvenue or infibeam down, you need to run behind infibeam team for refund or to validate your payment. It happened to me second time, I mailed the payment information to the email id provided in payment mail by CCAvenue, but no response yet. Anyway, I called them and they validated the payment in an hour, thats good side.

And the Customer support, you need to call Gujarat to talk to their customer support team, that's bad, you will end up with huge phone bill. On the other side, you can contact them via chat, most of the time they are offline and will be lucky to get response to your mails. Again, it seems only one person is dealing online Support, will take good amount of time to reply to you, more over the environment is not friendly, its like rapid fast round in interview, he will answer single word. We can expect better, for example on 2nd I contacted them to validate my payment, since my order still shows payment pending. And they promised me that I will receive my book by 4th. And I checked status on 4th but still no news of shipping, I again contacted them, they again told me that will receive order by 48hrs. Then I asked can I expected shipping today, he simply said no and closed chat, But he can give probable shipping date instead, I dont know how can I receive my order on 6th, with out even shipped on 4th.

-I updated ratings after reviewing site another time. I ordered only books, so I am not commenting about other services. Some aspects of the site are good, but not great.
