Dont know dont care. Review on Infibeam

First time I shopped on infibeam.com, I paid via paypal. Then I waited for 2 months for the book. No info... whenever I used to call with a number that was known to them, they would not pick up the phone.

Then I called from a different number and somehow caught them.

Of course, you cant expect any kind of courtesy from their side right.. I mean, you have called the great infibeam, you have to be thankful they at-least picked up the fone, so expect any kind of courtesy! This guy who picks up has something really urgent and important on his plate (more important than his customers of course), so he just types in the ID I give him and tells me "one more week" and bangs the phone. I say "thank you" to the instrument.

I wait another 2 weeks and finally, call them up.... this time its a lady with a man's voice (or the other way around, btw, who the f*c# cares) answers. S/he tells me "we are not able to get the book" no prefix, suffix, nothing at all (like "i am sorry" for example). I am obviously angered and so tell her to cancel the order. I am a fool, expecting some thing like "sorry sir, we will try our best and let you know, please give me some time" and things like that.... but nothing like that happens. The only thing she says is OK and the money got back into my paypal account in 4 days' time after that!!

Hold on, this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Frustrated, I create a new negative review about infibeam.com with mouthshut.com

One fine day, this lady calls me (of course I recognise the voice) and tells me she is soooooo sorry about all that happened and wants me to change the review and all that crap. And she bribed me Rs. 100 discount to change it.

I was ok for two reasons: 1. 100 bucks savings 2. anyways they are apologizing, they must have realised finally!! so nothing wrong changing the review. So I changed the review to that effect

Now comes the rest of the story: I went online again to book the same book :) and this time I am trying with 3 different cards - 2 CC and 1 DC, none of them are going through. All transactions failed. I thought some issue with the online payment module or something like that.

I forgot this entire event. I guess the next day or so, I went to buy something at a shop and what do you see!! My three cards which I had tried to use on infibeam.com had got screwed up! They are not working at the store too.... my heart might have skipped a couple of beats... what if my card was compromised? what if some online theft happened due to the usage that day, and now my cards are all dry empty?

To confirm how things were, we (me and some of my friends) went to the two banks (HDFC & Citi) and they told us there is some issue with the online payment that is used on some sites.... and also mentioned that there are many complaints about infibeam.com that the card gets suspended if used on their CC Avenue site.

So there goes! I am happy that my money is not stolen, but most unhappy with the behavior and fake promises from infibeam, again and again.... I wont say dont use the site... but check out some really good and professional sites such as https://flipkart.com which provides cash on delivery for everything on their site... and the rates also seem to be competitive, but best of all, they can get you each and every book thats ever published!

Last word to infibeam is: really guys you will top in being the crappiest site and service for a long time to come.... beating you is almost an impossibility for even a home-based chacha-chachi online store!! even a home-based business has the courtesy to answer calls

Some people learn from others mistakes, some from their own... but infibeam has taken an oath to never ever learn from anyone! great going infibeam... change your site to crappibeam.com, and yes, the domain is available!
