If there is one website on Indian internet scene one should avoid it is https://indiatimes.com. There are a thousand reasons one can give but I will focus on 2
Their email service
Their e-commerce portal service.
Email service: Pathetic, half the time the server is down and it will not accept your password. The other half time it is so slow that you can go out and watch an over on world cup before the next screen opens.
The worst part is they use this service as a spamming device for their sick sick sick e-commerce service on which they sell cheap imported chinese bads (they can't be good)
Example:
They have a service called same day deliver of fresh flowers. I ordered a bouquet of fresh flowers for my wife the order was placed on a Thursday hoping they will reach her the same day or latest on the next day. Surprizingly after repeated email reminders the order reached on Sunday evening by that time all the charm and occasion has been over. No apologies from Indiatimes so far.
I ordered Dog Food for my pet Pluto from Indiatimes thinking may be first time mistake lets us give them another chance. The order was placed on 2nd Feb 2003 the payment was done on the same day through my CC on the net. An email confirming payment was recieved. After that it has been a long wait for my poor Pluto ( by the way he is a pedigree Dalmatian). After about 15 days I got worried and was looking to contact India times. There website is so poorly designed that it took me hours to find a link to customer service. The only phone number they list is in Delhi ( I am in Kolkota now a days) So I am supposed to pay STD bill to find out my order status.... come on guys have you heard of some thing called Toll free number for customer service???? Apparently not.
The fun begins now after 8 emails I recieved a reply from then that they are looking in matter and I should not reply to the email..... Another 10 days and 5 emails later I get 2 emails one claiming that a refund is on its way( around 1st week of march) the second saying that the order is on its way. Remember no apologies so far. Well another week pases I remind them again and again same email that they are looking in the matter and I should not reply to the email... So dear friends I am still waiting for my money or the Dog food for Pluto. It is April already I don't know how long this will take but will keep you posted.
Times group has such a big empire but the empire is least bothered about its customers all they are interested is using the sucsess of their newspapapers to create a hype about their website which is slowly becoming a tabloid with its ratings in picture gallery of semi nude women.
I some time use to wonder why Amrita is so much against the Times group ... now I have the answer...
My advise to indiatimes user don't order anything or order only for Cash against delivery to these people.
