Typical Indian indifference to customer issues

Through my brother, I ordered a Black & Decker Meat Mincer model FM1700. Total cost: Rs.7349.00.


Order No. IN2506110100.


The Item arrived by courier on 14th July.


When I checked the contents I found that some items were missing.


1.Two screens, one for coarse grinding and the other for sausage making.


2.An attachment called Sausage stuffer, which is used to shape the meat into sausages.


Then itself I I visited the India Plaza website and got the customer care contact number and raised a complaint about the missing items.


My complaint was recorded, and, as confirmation I got a sms giving my complaint Ticket no.PH130944670153790.I was promised a response by 15th July.


But nobody contacted me after that . So on the 18th of July I tried to contact the phone number of India Plaza(08025208795) but the phone seems to be off the hook or something.


So I posted a message at their web site.


Promptly I got the following message:

I also got an sms saying more or less the same thing.


Today is July 24th and India Plaza has not even bothered to contact me. Plus their phone is still off the hook.


A customer has to trust these people by paying full amount upfront. But they don't reciprocate the trust by even bothering to call the customer when there is an issue like this.


This is the typical Ostrich like attitude of such companies.


Stick one's head in the sand and wait for the problem to go away. But does that attitude help me in getting the missing items? Not one bit.


I can drag them to court for deliberate online fraud/ cheating. But I will not due to sheer helplessness.


Because our courts are already overflowing with cases and I will have to be alive, maybe more than a century more to probably get a verdict.


India Plaza banks on just that to take its customers for a ride.


You who read this can help by avoiding online sites like India Plaza to teach them to have some ethics in their business instead of treating Indians like dirt.


Update 04.42PM 24th July 2011: SMS received from India Plaza.com informing me that they have responded to my Ticket No. PH130944670153790(Original complaint).Confirmation of this was on their web site promising update on the new course of action within 3 days.


Update 08.07pm 26th July 2011: Another SMS from India Plaza.com informing me that they have responded to my Ticket No.CNT202424077154583. As per the response on the Indiaplaza web site, they are checking the issue with the supplier and promised an update within 3 days.
