In the Harry Poter series, the last book, written by Mrs. Rouling, my young son was urging me to get the book for his reading as early as possible. I was wondering how I could get the book. I was reading in news papers that one publisher in Kolkata, whose stores is in Park Street, might be selling the book and young Harry Potter lovers will make a queue to get the book before the book shop from previous day night
I though it impossible for me to be there. Further, my son was not deemed fit to be there even.I got an advertisement e-mail cum promo from India Plaza that they have arranged to deliver the book and I am to book it on line. A mouse click reached me in the on-line shop and I booked the item and paid by Credit Card some forty days in advance.
News came in the morning that the book has come out in Londonand is being distributed globally at the same date as it was in London. In the afternoon, around 1=30 PM, a courier boy rang my door bell with the book in hand. A surprise note on the eyes of the young boy . book packet on the doors .! That too the sought after book of Harry .! Both me and my son were really glad to get the book without any hassle.
I vividly remember now, even when the great "Dot-com" hype had busted in the late nineties( some enthusiasts like me were watching events . I may tell you some where else . even you may write to me to get my views how the dream was broken .) on-line book stores could have avoided the shatters globally. Because .it is easy to support and deal in books distribution on line.
The event took place on the day strengthened my view yet once again. Though I may not predict the future
