I liked this piece very much. However, I am keen to know about how successful are marriages between colleagues.
I find that more and more young people are opting to marry their colleagues in large cities. I do not know how successful these marriages are. As an outsider, it appears to me that these young couples are interacting very well among themselves. Do these marriages work because these people had the opportunity to observe each other at close quarters at their place of work. They may have also made a mental note of each other's reaction to different situations and got to evaluate each others plus and minus points. Unlike dating where each partner, especially the male, is at his best behaviour, one cannot keep up the facade for long at the place of work. I also note that these marriages are mostly inter caste and inter religion at times. However, caste or religion do not seem to matter to these couples. Would anyone like to throw more light on this?
