Jan 29, 2016 10:36 AM 5656 Views

Hlo everyone,

generally uttapam is make with dal nd rice batter . but today .in my recipe, I show u, how to make uttapam instantly with semolina(sooji).

Ingredients for this recipe are as follows-

  1. Semolina – 1 cup

  2. Curd – ¾ cup

  3. Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp

  4. Green coriander – 2 tbsp(finely chopped)

  5. Tomato – 1(finely chopped)

  6. Cabbage – ½ cup(finely chopped)

  7. Capsicum – ½ cup(finely chopped)

8.onion  – 1(finely chopped)

  1. Green chilly- 1(finely chopped)

  2. Ginger – 1 inch piece(grated or finely chopped)

  3. Salt – 1/3 tsp or as per taste

  4. Red mustard seeds – ¼ tsp

u can also add or remove some vegetable according to ur taste

now, come to the direction-

  1. Take out semolina in a big bowl and add curd into it. Now add water little by little and make a batter same as required for making dosa.

  2. Add salt, ginger, green chilly in the batter and keep aside for 10 minutes to make it puffy.

  3. Take capsicum, cabbage, onion and tomato in a separate bowl.

  4. Place a non stick flat tawa over flame. Spread 1 tsp oil over the tawa, evenly. Sprinkle some red mustard seeds over it. When it crackles, pour 2 tsp batter on the heated tawa and spread it evenly in round thick uttapam like dosa but uttapam is little bit thick frm dosa.

  5. Now, Spread the vegetables over it evenly with help of a spoon. Also, place some green coriander over it. Pour some oil all around and over the uttapam. Press the vegetables nicely with help of a spoon.

  6. Cover and cook the uttapam until it gets brown at the bottom. Now flip the sides and roast from the other side as well on medium flame. Roast until vegetables are aptly cooked and brown spots appear over it.

  7. Take out uttapam in plate, serve it hot with nariyal chatni or green chatni or tomato sauce. u can even make this recipe for ur children as a snack, or for their lunch. Hope u all like thz recipe
