When it comes to CRICKET in INDIA, people are crazy and follow cricket whole heatedly. For some people cricket is religion, for some people its fun and time pass sport, hanging out in lounge and restaurant where big screens are put up telecasting the cricket games. For some people its money making sport where in people bet and win, some people its just waste of a time.
I am a person who lies in the group of people who love the sport enjoy it!!!!
At times even I feel like betting on it and earning some money, but at times loosing is what holds my feet back.
Every season seems to be monotonous but this season seems even more interesting, due to multiple factor.
I am a guy who always loved playing cricket and watching it, especially when INDIA wins, but in IPL its altogether different matter as its no more INDIA, so even though a team loses it does not come as a heart breaker. This is the 6th edition of the IPL, and half the season is already kicked-off.
IPL season one was very good and the UNDERDOGS Rajasthan Royals had won it, great performances by Yusuf pathan, Shane watson, Shane warned sealed them the title.
IPL season two was won by the Deccan Chargers, now known as Sunrisers Hyderabad was led by Adam Gilchrist who mentored as well as played for them. The Deccan Chargers franchisee is no more and taken over by sun group and named it as Sunrisers Hyderabad and they are performing good this season. 7 Matches and 5 wins bagging them 10 points.
IPL Season three and four was won by Chennai Super Kings as the team was led both the times by one of the most loved player of INDIA Dhoni.
IPL Season five was won by Kolkata Night Riders led by Gautam Gambhir and that made Shahrukh khan go crazy.
This season is a bit different and not as monotonous as the previous 5 seasons, as this season is a season where in bowlers have received even more recognition and aren't underestimated. Normally people have a conception that its mandatory to include 7 batsmen including the wicket keeper, as batsmen decide the teams success, but to those people this season has proved something different.

The first 3 teams gets a entry into the champions leagues where in teams from different participate for the cup, and all the teams are either 1st or 2nd in their respective league.
I would love to highlight the pros and cons:
Its a good time pass for people who many a people: The T20 format is such in which people of any age can join in for the fun, its all about nail biter finish, good power hitting, innovation, and using brains.
People especially love to enjoy super over.
This season is not only about power hitting but about bowlers invention in the game, Sunil narine and Amit mishra hat-trick and Dale steyn's fast bowling has added misery and pains to the batsmen. Its totally fun to see Chris gayle against such bowlers.
People Earn via betting: For each run score, for each wicket taken, for each six, for each boundary, etc people bet on. For some people this season is something where people earn a lot, and some people go in loss also. This also is disadvantage for some people as they lose a lot of money and go into frustration.
People can compete via online too: IPL has its own site where in normal user can create their own team, customize them. Make their own team and update it on daily basis, and can even transfer players. This gets interesting when people create their own league and tell their friends to join in and then compare who get how much points. A must try.
Bollywood Glamour with Cricket: Nowadays many bollywood stars also associate themselves with these franchisee. Three of the franchisee's itself have their owners as bollywood stars.
Teams like KKR, KXI, RR have their owners as Shahrukh khan, Preity zinta, Shilpa shetty respectively and this season actors such as Venkatesh are also seen cheering Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The bollywood and cricket combined is the best combination, and this is the way the franchisee's earn. I still remember one of my friend saying me that he is going to watch a match where in he expects to see Shahrukh khan closely. And later I realizing that it was a match between KKR and MI.
Many people come in to see the bollywood stars also and that is the way the TRP's go up, the stadium is full filled and the franchisee's earn. Ad's promotion during breaks is also a way to earn, so when you buy a cold drink for which you pay 15 bucks, is actually worth for 4 bucks but the promotion and marketing shoots the price upto 15.
The intensity level is still maintained: In spite the IPL being hosted every year, the intensity and craze does not go down inspite of the monotonous trend its following, but this season is really special. The opening ceremony consisted of majority of foreign performers, and few bollywood stars too. Pitbull also featured in the opening ceremony.
On the whole the opening ceremony was average and not that good as compared to other season.
Big screens are put up in malls so that people can come and hangout in the malls and watch match simultaneously, so that even the malls business goes high as well as people get to watch the match. Good idea isn't it? That's the way the world works.
Gossips: Normally guys don't gossip, but when IPL starts they too become GOSSIP KINGS. Every time people keep talking about IPL only everywhere, and the people who don't watch it gets frustrated with what the heck is going around? (Personal experience with one of my friend)
Cons:
Controversies: Every IPL season there has to be some controversy taking place, surprisingly this season hasn't seen any controversy. Every controversy is very much fun and high on gossips. People love discussing controversies more than the game itself, whether let it be the slap gate between Harbhajan or Shreesanth, or the Narendra modi money scam, or Luke pomersbach fight, or Ravindra jadeja banned for a full season or the ban of pakistan players, or the auction issue on CSK Players. The slap gate between Harbhajan and Shreesanth was relived, as Shreesanth claimed that Harbhajan din't slap him, and there was talk of the telecast of the video.
Cheer girls: For some people this may not seem a big issue, but some people object on the types of apparels worn by the cheer leaders. Once this issue came up, it was escalated and now the cheer girls are not wearing the two pieces they used to wear, and this was the best thing, as the IPL is for everyone and people of any age.
Ads: The ads seems very much annoying, and I prefer watching the ipl via live streaming. But I love the IPL ad, JUMPING JHAPAK.
The moves and the music is really catchy.

Young Indians like Siddarth trivedi, Shahbaaz nadeem, Hanuma vihari are performing well and can deserve chance in the coming T20 world cup. Entertainment comes with its own disadvantages.
Finally we all miss Jesse Ryder, hope he recovers soon.
Final Verdict: IPL takes place when there is no cricket around especially for INDIAN TEAM so this is the best to enjoy, and anyways its does not harm us in anyways. So the best time pass during the hot summer.
