Ravindar Ravi is Finally Gone!!. Review on Indian Idol

Now with only 4 contestant remaining,the competition in here is becoming tougher and tougher and people are further more getting addicted to Indial Idol. It finally came true to its saying: ''Sab Kuch Bhula de''.

Yes, Ravindar Ravi is finally gone but at the cost of other good contestants like Rahul saxena,Amit Tondon, Aditi Paul, Hanish Moyal, Mukesh Pancholi and Vishal Kothari(The first one to leave).

Indian Idol has come at its last stages where the competition as I earlier said is getting more and more and more tougher. Although the competition is getting harder the contestants are competing neck to neck and getting better with each performance.

They are also being groomed and trained by the idol team on various aspects of the celebrity persona like the confidence,Improving personality and the etiquettes. Along with rigorous training programmes,these contestants are also given some refreshing and light moments to spend their time together and strengthen their already existing bonds of friendship. These are then aired as a miniature clipping in every Thursday. It really is fun to watch them enjoying.

Here is a brief insight of the participants that have now remained!!

1)Rahul Vaidya:-

He has a sweet voice and can very well bring about a modulation in his voice(not in the last latest episode but) almost like his like his own ''Idol'' Sonu Nigam. Also he is one of those lucky contestant who have not not yet had their feet placed in the last three positions.(Other one being Amit Sana).

2)Amit Sana:-

He is a boy-next-door like a contestant. He initially had simple looks but later on as all the contestants underwent a makeover, like most of the others his personality too underwent a drastic change.

3)Prajakta Shukre:-

She is a 17-yr old Maharashtrian(All the contestants left are Maharahstrian now!-But religion doesn't make a difference!) who has a sweet voice and is believed to be Anu Malik's favourite contestant. has constantly being receiving praises from all the 3 judges(Sonu-Farah-Anu Mallik) and Farah khan went up to the extent saying that she is a complete ''Indian Idol package'' and she ''looks like'' Alka yagnik.Although she has a received praises in the past she somehow din't do well in the latest episode(Thursday episode where the contestants were made to sing two song of different themes instead of 1) where she sang Ruki Ruki from Mast.

4)Abhijeet Sawant:-

Considered to be a man with a sweet smile,(This was said by Mini Mathur-the Co-host along with Aman Yatan Verma(Of Khuljaa Sim Sim Fame) he has had a very low profile since the very beginning of the Gala round(the final round) but has improved his singing to a great extent.this was seen in Last Thursdays episode where he received praises from everyone(the Judges).Both his performances(Dil Chahata Hai-title and Maji re) were wonderfully rendered.This man is now determined to make his presence felt.

That was about the contestants and their brief profile.Besides the contestants who perform on the stage in the show the other people who make their presence felt(Apart from Sawant) are:

TheCo-hosts Aman Verma and Mini Mathur who act as themediators between the conestants-Audience-judges and also market the sponsors of Indian Idol pretty well.This can be seen in their constant sayings of punch lines likeUljhan Ka Happy Ending,The Contestants Can keep Themselves Connected..Thanks To Nokia(Connecting People is their punch line).

The JudgesAnu Mallik-Farah Kahan(wonder what she knows of singing)-Sonu Nigam) who are known as the ''3 Maharathi's'' fondly by the co-hosts and their job now is nothing but to comment on the performances of the contestans. According to me Farah finds every performance superb!,Sonu gives proper advice and feed backs while Anu Mallik always does his home-work on comments by preparing a ''New Sher'' every episode.

I would finally like to conclude my review from where I started it that is:

Ravindar Ravi:

Though was singled out by the judges and there were many complaints against his performance in many news papers(Mid-Day especially) and journals he was not such a bad singer after all considering his background and his lack of professional training. Although people kept complaining about his performance in every episode right from the beginning of the final rounds he managed to reach the final 5 level which was indeed a remarkable achievement for a non-professional.

Other people I would like to mention who could not make it in the final 11 are Raju Hela and another Blind Girl(Sorry I don't remember her name).Their names will always remain as a part of a memorable history of Indian Idol along with the 11 participants.Both of them as far as my knowledge goes were from lower middle class section of the society who did not have professional training only because of their financial problem. All in all this show which is a complete replica of American Idol has acted as a good platform for the aspiring singers who want to be a star/celebrity.

A must watch show by all. In spite of all the propagandizing and marketing if some of you have missed the initial episodes of the show you can at least catch up the remaining episodes aired on every Thursday(the Singing round) and Friday(where the results are declared) at 9:30pm-Ist on both the days!!
