Judges not Idol. Review on Indian Idol

I was shocked when I watched Indian Idol for the first time. The judges themselves do not show any sign of being ''Idols''.

One judge told a contestant that ''tere surat par mujhe aata hai pyaar, par tere awaaz sun kar mujhe aata hai bukhaar''.

And yet another contestant was told that his progress in the competition had proved that if you have good looks, you would progress to the next round, voice and knowledge of music not withstanding. The last thing you would expect from judges (who are supposed to be good in their field) to young people who are competing in an event being telecast. Reminded me of an equally stupid game show on TV ''kamjor kadhe koun''.

Also, the contestant quality is nowhere near that of say 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'. These people should do some more auditioning/ screening before getting contestants on stage and give only polite comments thereafter. If the judges mean any good to these young people, they should give their comments in person to them.
