Not very long ago....our idiot box catapulted Abhijeet Sawant to the luring world of fame and singing! I am myself a singer (bathroom singer) so I have watched a couple of episodes with lot of zeal... just to see the new talents coming up!
It reminds me of my college days, when we had a band and we wanted to churn out an Album...we three (me,Sanchay and Samman) gave up under family pressure and moreso because we were not very confident if this path could give us the securities we wanted. Sanchay and samman are with Infy and I am with partygaming...busy with our materialistic achievements!
But just see how things have changed...now for every God Damn thing...there is a direct involvement of the masses. And I must admit it's happening for the good!
I can see a common man going up on stage and being himself!
Does it not make us feel happy?....that earlier the appearances had to be polished, sauve and blah blah....But now...it looks much more natural..seeing just Anybody become Somebody, given some talent and luck!
Anyway, so I saw the episode in which, they kick out many of the aspirants and some of them get selcted to the IInd Round!
I am being critical not because I could not go for the audition (lol), I am being critical because of what I saw there...The three judges!
The problem is never when they select a bunch of talented people ...but the issue is with the way rejections were handed out!
Sonu Nigam : Has possibly forgotten that he did have to struggle to carve a niche out for himself....and some one should remind him about the fact that he has been as disastrous as Ajay Jadeja with his attempt on movies!
Farah Khan: No talent in terms of singing, she possibly was taken to give her judgement on the basis of the person's presentability and appearance! Ridiculous....you are searching for singers or the next Tom Cruise!!
Anyway, I just feel that her presence is justified..given her background!
Anu Malik: Aha! Last but not the least! I never had a great liking for him...with all due respect...I do like his music. And yes, he is a good musician. (No comments on lifting tunes etc..its no longer a big deal)..atleast he gives you good tunes.
On each and every occasion, when it comes to kicking a candidate out...I have seen him taking the lead! And as I donot know him personally...I flatly termhim ruthless in his words!
A candidate who has come from a distant village...for sure will not know how to ''Behave'' in front of the camera and will definetly show lot of nervousness!
These judges should not forget that these people have possibly never faced camera's before...so stop expecting them to have the so-called-TV-etiquettes! That's completey immature of the Judges. For Heaven's sake...stop acting like you are the Crusaders and there is some holy war you are fighting! Show some humanity, some understanding...lend an ear...show some humbleness!!!
They should also not forget that there is an audience watching this show! Someone's family, friends watching it with expectations..whatever be the calibre of the candidate! Though, I didnot know any of the candidates, I felt awkward with the way there were shown the door!
Do give them a goodbye if they dont deserve the place...but in a more human way!
All said and done...after this hunt is over. We will see them in their best of the behaviours..as they will be judges again but only for the ''selected ones''. Grow up!
