You all must be thinking, of course Anusha would watch this show once Sonu Nigam is in it. Hehe, ah well..that is one point. Though, there is something else much interesting that makes me watch this show. Hmm, as being a huge Sonu fan, It would be a delight in atleast getting to sing with him once. However, I never knew how hard it was. I never knew how many people’s dreams would be shattered in little bits. Come to think of it, it seems very challenging.

Indian Idol is on such a platform where contestants can express their talents and dream to be singers. The popularity of the show and I have also noticed, the faith that all these contestants have upon the audience and judges, have brought them through sheer luck at some points, but misunderstandings at other points. Some failed to impress and promised themselves to come back with a better performance while others are still on the path to fame. Heck I even remember this guy who had long, orangish kind of hair :S (I swear he looked like the exorcist). It looked more like over a million people registered for the auditions. Though, only a few were chosen as the ones who will be actually challenging each other to set their goals.

Those who passed the auditions all transferred to Mumbai for the Theatre Rounds and 2 girls and/or boys where chosen to do a performance which only a majority was once again chosen. Those who were then chosen to move on with the show, went into the Piano rounds and only 3 from the male side and female side were chosen by the audience of course, to continue at the final rounds.

The Trimurti of Indian Idol

Farah Khan, Anu Malik and Sonu Nigam were set out for such a journey filled with fun, excitement and of course some serious times where they were furious. Their mission which was to be completed: Hunt down the Agla Indian Idol! The judges went to Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata. They shared times of masti whilst discovering many individuals who seemed to impress at a certain extent.

Sonu Nigam - When I first saw Sonu on the show, he didn’t turn out to be the guy I met once. When I saw him, he seemed to be so reserved (shayad Anusha ko dekh kar, he just kept staring and stopped talking :P) He seemed even more cooler on the show. His way of having fun, the way he mimics..gosh I have not seen such a cooler mimic than Sonu. He totally rocks at that part. Especially when he mimics Sandeep, it seems so cool! The fun times he had with the other two judges is something that remains in my mind always. Someone so devoted to his dream of being such a wonderful singer, can have that same perspective of what the young youth has today as well. To be honest, I found him really rude at some points of judging some of the contestants. Though, now when I see him at this moment, he seems to be a great deal of help to those performing. He has given such superb advice which can even change the way others think of some who are singing on the show.

Anu Malik

You know what? When I was little, my mom made me meet him. I didn’t even know who he was. Heck, I wasn’t even paying attention to him that day. However, when I see him I think, was this the guy I failed to recognize bringing all those cool shaayaris out? He seems like someone who encourages a lot. A person who will say something straight forward. He can be rude but otherwise if you are a good performer and handle your singing well infont of him, just think you are getting a chance to sing in one his forthcoming songs. :)

Farah Khan

When I first found out she was a judge on this show, I was like- ”Why is a choreographer on this show?”. When I look at her judge contestants, I feel that she seems to like people to a certain extent. She likes having fun and Sonu and Anu make so many jokes with her like you can’t even imagine. She is a pleasing person to be around with and also encourages a lot but to some extent when she tells someone that they have not sung well and that person gets out, she feels as guilty as ever. Which makes me feel so mad and irritated.

The Sutradhars of the show

When I look at the two hosts, I see excitement and fun in the show. They seem such a good pair for hosting such a show filled with suspense and entertainment. Aman Verma to me has a really adorable smile for the camera. His way of talking is so energetic and he brings a lot of humor to the show as well. Mini Mathur is another entertaining one. She seems as energetic as Aman when is comes to talking in front of the camera. She sometimes disagrees with Anu Malik and I don’t know how she has the guts to. Her confidence in being a host shows it all…

The Last 3 Contestants

I thought since Indian Idol has come so far, let’s just not talk about what happened before on the show with all the others but the last three challengers. When I look at Karunya, Sandeep and Anuj, mostly they talk about getting all their confidence from their parents, especially their mom’s. Which really touches me.

Karunya - After seeing he has come so far in his singing and his wonderful performance, I am scared for him. Due to the times when the audience sometimes vote out the wrong people who infact are suppose to be there rather than get voted out. He seems very devoted to his singing and has always been encouraged by his parents. He can make a perfect Indian Idol to my thoughts. He has got the X-Factor. Hehe, when I first saw him as well, I thought Abhishek Bachchan was going to take part in the show. He surprises a lot with his voice.

Sandeep - His voice has always been compared to Udit Narayan’s. I find he does even better in songs Udit Narayan hasn't sung. Sonu has also influenced him to stop singing Udit Ji’s songs and go into others. Now, when I look at him, he seems even better than before. His way of singing has rapidly changed.

Anuj - He has been trying his best. I remember when he didn’t get a chance to perform in the final rounds! He was voted out. Then, the judges gave him another chance for his great and cool voice. From then, I don’t think he has really changed. Yeah, he has tried his best to sing all these different songs and learn different types of pitches when he sings. Though, sometimes I feel he just loses it when over-confidence takes him over. He has done some very good performances but then again, he has a bit of catching up to do with his way of maintaining his voice during high and low pitches and wherein to take deep breaths while he sings.

Overall I see Karunya on top, following Sandeep and then Anuj.

My Last Thoughts

I have noticed that when I look at the pattern of how each singer sings, there is a change to that from guess who…?? Yeah, the audience. As Sonu once mentioned that just because a contestant might be your friend or your family member you don’t give them the vote. The one who YOU find the best, vote for them.

Heh, if it weren’t for the Indian Channel my dad just got, this review wouldn’t really be here as well. So erm..Papa Zindabad?? :P lol…
