HELP ! HELP ! the Indian team is in a real need of changing the captain of the Indian Team ... Though, the Indian team seem to cruising wonderfully winning both of the ODI's against arch-rivals Pakistan, I personally would like to see the xit of the Indian Captain - Sourav Ganguly.

I have personally been a fan of his but I guess everythin' in the world has a time limit and Sourav has gone well past it without doing his job right. I am sure most of us have seen smaller players losing their caps before because of their under-achievement or bad patches, then why should Sourav is being granted so many lives. Quite unfair, eh! He has become a liability to the team and I dont think to do well in the international arena, the Indian team can afford to stake a batting spot with someone who has become totally unreliable.

Actually, it is not his fault that he has been going thru a bad patch. It is the external factors which makes him perform bad - for e.g. a few years back as well when his bad patch was on - it was solely because of Nagma. He couldn't afford to spend too much on the crease because just in case Nagma called. He had to be beside the phone to catch it before she leaves him for a richer, brashier or mafia-linked hunk. So, it wasn't him then and now he cannot afford to stay on the crease for too long because he needs to be constant touch with his restaurant manager and accountants. He needs to get the updates regularly which is obviously not possible while batting. So, again it is not all his fault for his poor show !

Well .. coming back to the actual topic of discussion. I would like to see people's choice for our next captain. Obviously, you would be quite aware of the choices, but here are they again:

  1. Sachin Tendulkar: The saviour of Indian cricket team in all forms of cricket. He is not only a star in India but is equally loved and respected in all parts of the cricketing nations. An idol, son, friend and so much more to millions of Indians. Though, he did not shine in his first stint as a captain. I, feel it is worth a chance to give him a second go.

  2. Rahul ''The Wall'' Dravid: This champ obviously needs no introduction. He has proved time and again that he is the ''Mr. Dependable'' of the Indian cricket team. Loved by the elders and youngsters, he has made permenant place in the hearts of all cricket loving fans whether India or abroad. A very intellectual and a smart cricketer who is all ready to take the team to the next level.

  3. Virender Sehwag: The latest STAR to add to the glittering batting line-up of the Indian cricket team. His aggresive nature will help the morale of the youngsters and will be able to attack and kill the bowlers before they rise above the level. Only such motivation if provided by the captain can make India win matches and touch the top spot of ODI arena. He is young, full of energy and surely one of the contenders for the captain's spot. If not today,am positive I will see him as the leader soon enough.

Apart from these three, if you feel someone else should be, please feel free to express it in the comments area.

What are you views on two seperate captains for test and ODI's respectively and who do u think we will the best at the job ?

Do you think a youngster if brought in (e.g. Graham Smith ) as a captain will be able to push the motivation or bring in the killing instinct that is required to win matches. If yes, who do u think would fit the bill ?

As for me, I dont care who comes in as long as Sourav is shown the door with a certificate of appreciation for all his done for the indian cricket team. With all due respect, I think he should realise that its time to delegate and retire gracefully.
