Give them a break

I feel there is some justification to the outbursts by Ganguly against the commentators.

What one has observed with regard to the commentary of the ongoing series is these people have started passing judgements and doling out opinions than really being objective with the commentary. The anger of the fans is understandable as a mob is always swayed by their own opinions, but what really irks is the insensitive comments of the commentators as well, is their job only to criticise, havent they been through such situations? How come they to want us to win all the while?

We have observed one thing in this world cup that all the teams (excluding Aussies) have been struggling, most of their star players have been out of form. We should have allowed them to settle in. For all you know, the comments made in due course of the match would have instigated the untoward incidents that took place when the mobs damaged the property of the players, this naturally puts more pressure on the players, as they have to think about the safety of their family back home.

We all know Ganguly exudes passion and the attitude he exhibits doesnt go down well with lot of our own people, the same very people who were once talking about Indians lacking the ''killer instinct''. Rubbishing him for his attitude, which has had a good rub off on the team, and his temporary loss of form is something which is intruguing, havent all these greats gone through such phases in their careers before?

I do feel we are adding unnecessary pressure on our players with the things outside the field. The cricketers making money also has become a bone of contention. I seriously feel they have every right in making use of the opportunity that comes their way, remember their careers are very short. Why do we have to assume that they have been in the studios more than in the nets? I am sure that even the cricketers are aware once they stop performing the brands chasing them today will stop recognising them.

All I can say is ''Give them a break'' and rally behind them to put up a great performance.
