The devil behind the cake. Review on Indiacakes

Bangalorecakeshop was where I had placed my order from, the very first time I ordered, they promptly delivered the cake with absolutely no problems and were on time and even the product delivered was fresh.

But that was just "the icing of the cake", pardon me for the terrible pun but it was no laughing matter when I re-visited the site expecting them to provide me with the same service, instead I went through a harrowing experience.

It was my dad's birthday and I expected to have the cake delivered by evening so I had ordered a day earlier on time.As the delivery time  was nearing on the day, I was a bit surprised I had not received a call from them, so I called up their local Bangalore number provided on their site. They re-assured me the order would reach me on the allotted time.

After about 3-4 hours passed and it was getting late, I called them up again, after asking me to hold they cut the line and put the receiver off the line as I got a continuous busy tone since.At this point I called their customer care and they told me they would get back to me after checking with the local shop.Another 2 hours had passed by, this time I was frustrated as the day was almost done and these guys had given absolutely no response.

Just as I was ready to give up on them, a delivery guy called up at about 6 hrs past the delivery time and told me that he had the order with him, not only was this guy extremely rude, he claimed he had no contact with the cakeshop whatsoever and he was just a delivery person affiliated with another company that just delivers.

What infuriated me further was when this guy came after taking his own sweet time, he had apparently been loafing with his girlfriend which was quite the sight as he was delivering the cake to me.Furious as I was, i kept my cool and received the cake fully knowing it was my fault to have ever ordered from a site that looked shady in the first place.

In closing i'd like to add that it was a disaster of a day where I was fuming at how late they delivered the cake especially this being an occasion of my dad's birthday. I urge people that have read this review to not fall prey to such sites and actually do a background check on review sites such as Mouthshut before you click the dreaded "Order now" link.

Once you do order, know that you are under their mercy and they can simply choose to not receive calls from you at any point.Its criminal that these sites are still operational just by providing a few of the many with decent service while the ones at the receiving end take the entire damage.
