How true, who has ever said that, certain things in life, like a telephone number, your life partner and so is your email id should be thought 100 times before deciding one because you can't change those things again and again. In the last decade or so we have seen things changing and shutting down in the IT industry, its really a very hard fact that only people with high financial resource can survive.
THE SURVIVAL
The last 5 years have seen things booming in the Internet world like anything. Even my local shopkeeper wanted his web site. That’s the kind of impact Internet has put on people and has brought people so close to each other. Now, again when Internet was the in thing, survival game was of very much importance and we all knew very few are going to survive, because we they themselves didn’t knew were the revenue is going to come. It’s just bad planning and a very bad business model.

So coming back to E-mail, the last 4 months have been very difficult for me, because all my service provider have either made themselves premium or have close down the shop. I had 5 accounts in Visto and these people couldn’t sustain the expenses of giving large e-mail space and finally shut their door on Dec 21st. Similar was the case of many, even Netadress , made itself a premium e-mail service provider.
Now, I had to decide on the one, who is going to survive and who is going to give me a better service. Full marks to yahoo and rediff.com for providing pretty okay space and a very good service. But a very good friend of mine and the ADTIMES Paper(Times of India) was boasting of Indiatimes.com getting better and best, hence it tempted me to try Indiatimes.com. But I didn’t knew, I was going to watch Doordarshans favorite slogan ”Sorry for the Interruption” and Indiatimes.com’s Favorite slogan,

INDIATIMES.COM PROFILE
This is e-mail service provided by the Times of India group’s so called most famous portal of India, Indiatimes.com. I know ..I know, you must be thinking, Indiatimes.com is the most sought after portal because, it is now everywhere, on MTV, on SONY TV and all the major channels have tied up with them. No doubt Indiatimes.com is gaining popularity with variety of stuffs to choose from, but I don’t know are they really delivering these goods. Now coming back to Indiatimes.com e-mail, they promised it to be safe, fast and consistent but lets see are they really that safe and consistent.
FEATURES OF THIS LADY…
Indiatimes ID
I registered on the Indiatimes.com in the month of December and since then, I had lot of advantages, you can use one id for most of the stuffs, like messenger clubs and the contests. Hence, it gives a one-way ticket to the portal.
LOADING & UNLOADING…
Indiatimes, knew they are competing with Bigwigs like yahoo and rediff and hence need to be of the top class. They succeeded only 45% because, some times Indiatimes E-mail does open like lightning, but sadly most of the time, its under maintenance. I am really confused is it, the technical problem or they have lot of traffic due to which they are having this problem.
Hence, Indiatimes.com should come out of the shadow of Doordarshan and try to remove this irritating message and should do the maintenance work in the night time. Because most of the user’s are Indians and very few people in India check their e-mails after mid-night.
Some thoughts….
“What is the point of having such fast speed when half the time you can’t access your e-mails hence need to do some fast thinking, otherwise people might get fed-up of their maintenance and in the end, Indiatimes.com will have only to do.. Maintenance and nothing else…”
HOW MUCH CAN HE EAT…
No doubt, when today size does matter, Indiatimes.com is definitely doing a good job as far as e-mail space is concerned, because they give an amazing 10Mb space for e-mail and 30mb of space to store your files.
Some thoughts….
“ What is the use of a e-mail service, where you can check your e-mail. Its like waiting out side the McDonald’s restaurant waiting for it to open. Instead on concentrating on the e-mail service space, they should concentrate on it to open all the time…
WHAT ARE THE DESERTS WITH IT…
Its always seen that people like to give deserts along with the lunch and so does indiatimes.com. They provide you with calendar’s, Appointments, reminders and things-to-do areas. Apart from that allowing you to retrieve messages from pop-mail accounts. But if I can’t access Indiatimes.com e-mail, am I mad to block my other e-mail to.
CAN MR VIRUS STRIKE ME …
I am really not sure, whether you have that facility hence how secured are my e-mails not sure. Apart from that their blocking facility is pretty okay hence you don’t have lot of spams from others but you do have spams from their own portal hence you have to take some time to delete those e-mails, “ONLY IF YOU ARE ABLE TO LOGIN”
ADVANCE EDITOR…
Behold the majesty of having such an e-mail where your browser should have Active X control, because then only you are able send or compose and e-mail. This advance editor is of no use, if you don’t have a browser set with Active X control.
CUSTOMER SERVICE…
Customer service is a thing which, no Indian companies have accustomed with or I should say never concentrated on this. Similar is the problem with Indiatimes.com. I had sent an e-mail stating the problem but have never got any reply from them…
Finale….and My thought…
Finally, I would like to avoid this e-mail for regular use because, I won’t be able to access my e-mail on a regular basis. If, Indiatimes.com stop giving ads and concentrate on their service then only am I going to use this on a regular basis.
