My kid is studying at pre-primary level in India International School, Bangalore. We have admitted our kid after looking the lot of lung space, sweet words from the management. We also though that school would have ideal for giving balanced education, teaching real discipline.

It is true that school has pre-planned curriculum and is organised well. Kids enjoy the large space of greenery and big grounds. Education is kind of balanced, they do encourage kids to be engaged in various activities but the teaching is at all a high standard.

On the flip-side the school fee is on very higher side. The attitude of school management is to suck money from parents by what-ever means. Recently they imposed one rule – if a student would be staying absent on the eve of closing or opening day after Winter vacation, Dussera vacation he / say has to pay Rs 500 each. This should be perfect evidence of the attitude of a school.

Recently, they asked Rs 100 for taking a class photo from the parent. They forced us to give the money and repeatedly sent note the same to Almanac. Moreover, the concerned class teacher asked the kid(the pre-primary kid!) more than once by saying “where is the money? The Rs 100 is not a factor, only botheration is about the mean-mind ness. How come a teacher would ask for money to his / her student, that too a kid having less or just 5-year! This should also raise a serious question about the teacher’s culture, quality. Also you cannot fore or make mandatory of taking class photo.

I fear this is not just the end; the various means of looting money will only go on rising in coming years. I am seriously thinking any other alternatives.
