It simply turns me on. Yes, India is like that enigmatic lady which continues to haunt you during the drowsy nights with the charm of fulfilness. It is well endowed and like a loving mother continues to give Unconditional love.

I am extremely priviledged to have been born in this vast country with its cultural plurality and versatility. Its history is similar to the endless Ganga that goes on and on. The deluge of languages are as mellifluous as the integrity reflected in its classical music.

I was reading an article in today's paper which states that total wealth of Aurangzeb was ten times more than that of Louis 14, the biggest ruler in Europe then. No wonder we were termed as The Golden Bird. India isn't all that rich today due to multiple reasons. But still we are better than many. Atleast we are craving to be self-sufficient.

I wouldn't want to divide India into sects and religions and other boundaries. I wouldn't want to state that we were the brightest during a certain era, while the other was bad due to a myopic rule. No, India for me is a composite unit. An entity that stands firm under any adversity whatsoever.

India is all this and more! But, as is rightly stated, a country is as good as its people. We also happen to be a country of some of the biggest cheats. It was due to the high greed quotient in certain leaders that a handful of westerners were able to make a substantial use of our resources at various instances in history.

India also happens to be a country where the accountability factor is majorly missing amongst its citizens. We tend to be emotional while supporting India during a cricket match, but when it comes to delivering goods in aid of productivity, the initiative is sorely lacking.

I am a firm believer in the fact that Indians in general are low on common sense for they wouldn't waste much precious time on baseless issues. Issues, which are dead and buried for good. We could be taken for a ride quite easily for we are high on providing fuel to half baked rumours.

I love my country in spite of all its warts, blemishes and closer-to-heaven beauty. And I really dream of a bright and prosperous future for our Massive country. Yet, I wouldn't want to hide from the reality either. It is high time we stopped glorifying our glorious past and lived in the present and worked hard for a better tomorrow. Any takers for a new India!

The hum today may be a huge noise tomorrow. Let's try and make our contribution in that direction. Be an Indian Today!
