Hi guys/gals,

Let me be very frank. I generally don't read books or novels. Reason: if I start reading, I have to finish that book in one sitting. I won't do anything except aiming in finishing that book. You want to know way I read? You will be surprised to find the answer. First I will read first few chapters till a point when I actually understand the plot of that book. Then I start reading backwards from the last chapter. Why? That helps me to understand the thought process of the writer and the way he or she thinks. Seriously weather be it any novel or any magazine or be it a suspense novel, that's the way I read.

Regarding the book India 2020: A vision for the new millennium by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and by YS Rajan, I would say its one of the best book I have come across in recent years. This books talks about mere facts about India and how India will be among top developed countries by year 2020. They have taken into account not only industrial sector but also agricultural and health sectors. This books shows how India’s natural resources and bio-diversity will her to achieve that goal.

What surprised me the most in the book is the name Walmart in the book. You have to remember one thing: this book was written in 1998 and till then Walmart was not known to common people in India. At that time Walmart was still on its growth phase and they (Dr. Kalam and Rajan) realized its potential and mentioned it in the book. At present, Walmart is one of the biggest departmental store chain in US and even after 9/11 when economy went down, Walmart was still on positive growth. The reason I am insisting on Walmart point is that, if they can predict the future of Walmart, they are experienced enough to see where India is going and what India is going to become in future.

Today its 2003, and I have already started seeing that progress. India is one of those countries who were hardly affected by the global economy slowdown. Indian rupee is getting stronger day by day against US dollars (people can argue, that its not Indian Rupee that is getting stronger but US Dollar is getting weaker, but then try to compare it with any other currency and you will understand). Every month I read news about India either sending satellites into space for various purposes or testing new technical products. Everyday I see people across the world have started seeing India as one of the most stable countries. Last month all top five developed countries presidents agreed on Mr. Vajpayee's views and ideas. When was this happened in last 50 years of independence? This is the first time all so called developed countries has appreciated the views of India. They are moving forward to build stronger economic ties with India.

Last week, Mr. Vajpayee’s visit to China showed similar results. For the first time, China and India has agreed for stronger economic ties. India and China being bitter enemies from ages, has agreed to put their differences aside and move forward which will help both the countries.

Today in the news paper I read, India is going to become trillion dollar economy by 2010. (https://financialexpress.com/fe_full_story.php?content_id=28106). I am not surprised to see these news. Infact I am happy to read them and to see where my country is heading under ABLE LEADERSHIP OF MR.VAJPAYEE AND DR. APJ ABDUL KALAM.

You must be thinking I am diverting myself from the topic of the book, but try to understand the justification of my trust in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. I don’t know you people realized this or not but isn’t is surprising that Dr. Kalam resigned suddenly from his post 6 months before he was nominated as the President by BJP government? Isn’t is surprising that till last moment his name was not disclosed for the president post? Isn’t is surprising that this BJP government brought India to nuclear level with help of Dr. Kalam?

What I am trying to say is, both Mr. Vajpayee and Dr. Kalam wants India to become super power. They are trying their best though facing criticism from their party members and opposition members, who just want to fill their pockets with tax payers money. For all these reasons, I trust Dr. Kalam and his views and his interpretations and his predictions about India.

So I think what is written and described and predicted is highly true and if India follows the path and keep doing right things at the right time, It will be one of the developed countries of the world.

GUYS,, READ THE BOOK AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED TO KNOW FACTS AND CAPABILITIES OF INDIA, WHICH TILL DATE YOU DON'T KNOW.

PS: Please don't read this book as a book of economics or statistics, otherwise you will get bored, but try to understand the underlying message that writers want to convey to the people.
