This film is a definite entertainer.It had an unbelievable opening.Theaters were filled with people for more then a week.Its not the same for every movie here in Pondicherry.I saw the film on the second day after a great battle for tickets.This is due to the hype that had been created in the pre-release scenario and the delay also.
Vaigai Puyal VADIVELU couldnt have expected a better time for this movie.He is in the peak of his career now and this film is a boon.The setting is the historic time of kings.Pulikesi the 23rd is portrayed as a innocent and comical character who is brought up as a bad king by his uncle, Nasser who is also the head councellor of the state.This is the best part in the movie. Vadivelu has curbed his natural instincts and has given what is necessary for this film.Hats-off to his acting.Believe me , this man can make you laugh with each and every movement of his.His moustache makes you giggle every time he appears on the screen.And that walk he does is still more enjoyable.And the man who has written dialogs that rhyme every where deserves a platinum pen.The delivery of those dialogs by Vadivelu were impeccabe.
As the tortures of the king and his support to the British continue to grow, people were tortured.The one who comes for the rescue of the people is another Vadivelu, his twin brother who has been seperated immediately after birth and brought up as a rebel.This role is a serious role for him.He also falls in love with a girl.And all the efforts he has put into this role to look serious, make him more comical.Then at an accident, they switch places and he teaches all the wrong doers a lesson and then they both are united.There ends the movie. A normal classic script but the screen play was
excellent.They have succeeded in bringing the old times back to life.I seriously hope that we have more movies of this kind.The songs are moderate only.But comedy rules.
This is a must see for everybody.Even the most serious phases of the film are loaded with comedy.This is total three hours of Ha Ha Ha.And im sure you will get every penny worth.
