ImInt Points - trust a thief to Catch a thief. Review on Imintpoints

Some back I got a surprise in my mail - An imint Card. I registered on their website with the iMint Card no and found some points to my credit. When I called the customer care center I was told that this is a new rewards program from ICICI for my longstanding ICICI Credit Card. Being quite happy that there were some points available I went and ordered some professional looking binoculars. They were quite prompt to sent me the same. However it proved to be some load of crap -probably made in the gullies of Chandni Chowk !! - it had some Russan symbols to boot ! The binoculars were so crappy that I could hardly see anything beyond a few feet leave alone some distance. Reaslising that it is my fault for trusting some online site, I kept quiet.

To my surprise my next ICICI card statement showed zero balance of my long accumulated points. When I checked with the bank they said that all points had been transferred to iMint ! When I asked them why they did not communicate this, they said somehow it has been overlooked ! So poof went my points.

That is why I say trust a thief to partner with a thief! ICICI borders upon the thin line of legality to take customers for a ride and iMint is a company which is neither professional but totally incompetent and incapable.

To add to this saga, I (now wiser) recently redeemed my points in iMint for gift vouchers of Landmark. so far so good the transaction went thru, but I found that my address was incorrectly given. So I called up the Customer care and they said they will correct the address. But when I did not get the vouchers sent to me after even 6 weeks, I called them up and they said it was returned as the address was incorrect !! I told them about my call but they said, sorry about that !!. They asked me to wait till the points get reverted and then order again. I waited for more than 6 weeks till the points got reverted. Meanwhile I did about 20 calls / mails to them to get the address corrected, but to no avail. Every time they would say, it will be done in 1/2 hour, or it is already done, but when I get to the address (here unfortunately you cannot see your address in your profile, but you have to order something, check out your shopping cart and then just before confirmation you are asked whether the mailing address is correct !)

When I asked them how do I now order they said you can call customer care and place an order thru phone as they are unable to correct the address !! When I called, the product - gift vouchers - are now taken off and I am now saddled with all those points with nothing to buy but a load of crappy, shoddy products. !!

I would NOT recommend imint to anyone, it was my luck that I was shanghaied into it !!

Now the next thing I'm sure that I will hear from them is - Sorry sir your points have lapsed !!
