By: A.P.J.Kalam
Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power within India examines why, given all our skills, resources and talents, we, so obviously capable of being the best, settle so often for the worst. What is it that we as a nation are missing? At the heart of Ignited Minds is the belief that the people of a nation have the power, by dint of hard work, to realize their dream of a truly good life.
Kalam takes up different issues and themes that struck him on his pilgrimage around the country as he met thousands of schoolchildren, teachers, scientists, saints and seers in the course of two years. The result is this book that motivates us to get back on the winning track and unleash the energy within a nation that hasn't allowed itself full rein.
The nation consists of peoples and with their effort a nation can accomplish all it could ever want. Motivating India’s people and its youth especially, is the centra. Dreams are the raw material of action. Dreams initiate the thoughts and thoughts result in action. Children are the architect of the future of our country. They have the capacity to transform their dreams into realities through hard work and determination. The outcome of these realities will bring peace, prosperity, strength and bliss to our nation. Thinking builds capital, enterprise is the way and hard work is the solution. To ignite the mind of children of our country, kalam has emphasized to motivate them by giving examples of great men that had work hard in their respected fields.

To progress in life one should work in a planned and systematic manner and this book is all about breaking away from the forces that would prefer us to remain a nation of a billion people selling cheap labor and raw material and providing a large market for goods and service of other nation. Kalam want to convey the message that start moving and it is high time to develop conviction in ourselves and discarding the things that hold us back.
