Story:

This is a story of two friends and their god father. These friends move up in the same company one chooses the honest way and the other guy the dishonest way. In the climax the bad guy changes heart and acknowledges all his mistakes and joins the godfather in his business. How many times have we seen this in Bolywood movies?

The problem I have with this book is that the good guy is too good that he does not realize that his friend is back stabbing him and the bad guy is too bad and is dishonest at work, cheats on his wife and quite evil. In real life people are not just good or bad they are a lot more complex. Also a bad guy changing to a good guy in one conversation only happens in Bollywood movies.

To be honest I completed this book in 3 or 4 sittings which is my record for the fastest book I have read. I usually take a month to finish a book. Once you start reading the book it sucks you into this but after putting it down I felt I could have invested the time better.

The Author has said nasty things about what happens in the corporate world. I have worked with various multi national corporations in my career and my dad worked in multinational banks all his life. Honestly we have not seen characters as described in this book. Considering that the author himself works for HSBC bank one has to assume that there is some element of truth in his story. But to read about women(including married ones) sleeping with their bosses to move up seems to be over done in this book. I don’t think the Indian corporate world is so bad or may be I’m just being naïve.
