I came across this book ,as my mom's student gave it to her to peruse through, knowing fully well that we were hardcore fans of Mr.Vithal Kamat, and his chain of clean Hotels. IOW starts with the childhood days of Mr.Vithal Kamat, and flows in a sequential manner throughout.
The writing style of Mr.Kamat is unique ,in the sense that his humour has many shades and can keep you in splits for a period ,more than can be reckoned. The book tells us about his dad and mom,and you get an insight into his upbringing,it teaches us how an ideal parent and an ideal son need to be...very thought provoking. Those early days when work was hard and the going was tough. You are moved beyond reasoning when you read how an undivided family ,actually hinges on material gains, for the division so brutal in its tapestry,as can create a waterfall from your mountainous eyes. I was moved beyond reasoning..and learnt a lot from this book.
It tells you about Mr.Kamat's almost innate sense of business, his relationships with his employees, his treatment of people as human beings, his love for Nature..and the Fruit--The Orchid,India's mascot of/for eco friendly Hotels. I myself have visited the Orchid and its an institution by itself.... I am not writing anymore...Please read this book and you will know how to get on in Life.
