It's really surprising to see that the very issues Idea advertises that it tackles are the ones which are quite evident on their network!The only advantage of Idea as far as I have seen is the detailed, genuine billing. Apart from that, everything else seems like an illusion.
I ported my no. from CDMA to GSM a few months back and decided to go in for Idea because of the competitive pricing and 3G availability and more importantly because this is the only other network which has signals at my hone. But soon after a few days, I was taken aback!
There are call drops even when the signal is full. It is quite evident even if you change your handset. So issue with handset can be ruled out. I called / emailed them multiple times but the issue remains the same.
Many calls you will find call echoes. Surprising because you would see Abhishek Bachchan advertising the same poking fun at other networks! Hey Idea, you should improve your network, not your advertising skills, people will come to you anyway if your network is good.
3G is bad. If you're at a mall, you will find 3G working in one section and only GPRS working at other. Weird right! But thats the truth!
My no. is registered in DND. However, I get equal no of marketing calls and smses from third parties and Idea. I am a post paid member. Imagine what happens to pre-paid customers! And if you go by their format for reporting, it simply doesn't work! You'd be stuck in the process. Guess they have least respect for customers privacy.
Finally, would you want to go to a network which is cheaper has lot of value added services but doesnt work when you have to make / receive calls? Well, I wouldn't do it again! I am waiting for my Porting period to get over so I can port to another network.
