My Complaint is specifchandru021y related to the unlawful and possibly fraud activities being done by IDEA CELLULAR, Maharashra.


I have talked to IDEA cellullar, both through email and phone( Complete Conversation attached below), innumerable number of times, but to no use. In fact, when I refused to pay the bill for the subsequent month on the grounds that I was not satisfied with their response, they disconnected my phone at a time when I was stuck in a serious personal matter and badly needed the phone.


With no choice, I had to take another connection. I also emailed them with my new number( 9490204171), in case they still want to resolve. But now, I heard my friends are receiving calls from IDEA for the information about me.


MY COMPLAINT DETAILS ARE AS UNDER:


My name is Vikram Singh, I am( used to be) a Pune Idea Cellular Customer and my number is: 9689909287


I am using a postpaid plan, and for the 3G, the pack is Rs.250 -  1 GB.


During the month of September, for a period of 6-7  days, my download suddenly increased despite the restrictions on my phone for auto-download.


Within a week, I had an excessive download of almost 3 GB.


I called up IDEA representative regarding this issue, however he said that I will have to pay as I must have done the downloading.


The download generally happened in the early morning b/w 4 AM – 6 AM.


I was made to believe that there was some problem with my cellphone, and I will have to pay for it.


My Bill for the month generated was Rs. 3795.94, out of which, just for the download extra charges of about Rs.1800( Rs.1501+ taxes) got levied.


Since, I did not suspected any conspiracy, I paid the complete Bill.


Within a few day I got to know that, one of my colleague in the office[Mr.Vivek Sharma], using the IDEA  - reported the similar issue that he suddenly gets a message about downloading of almost 1 GB extra in one night.


Then, the next day another colleague of mine[Mr. Mihir Astik], reported the same issue.


I had not suspected any conspiracy on IDEA's part, because I had thought that my cellphone was old.


But, my colleagues, both of them had recently bought their cellphones and there was no problem whatsoever with them.


Then it struck, me that there is a big conspiracy being managed by IDEA CELLULAR


How can the exact same thing happen to 3 people in the same week.


I am sure, there are many people who must be having the same problems and unaware.


For the same, I emailed IDEA and also talked with their reps, for the reversal of my Charges.


But it has done no good to me.


Infact, IDEA has disconnected my number.


The worst part is that, the IDEA people seem to me, not even educated enough to read my emails and give me a sensible reply. They are simply adamant with their responses( which seems more like a copy paste general response)


Additionally, the similar problem reported by my colleague( Mr.Vivek - as mentioned above) has been resolved.


But the same exact case of mine, is not even being heard.


I am sure there must be many IDEA customers, who have been duped in a similar way,


and which in my opinion is a very serious offence.


I urge other people to come forward, with a similar situation as mine - so that a legal complaint can be filed.

This is regarding my complaint for the usage charges levied against me.


Despite my complaint, no action was taken from your end.


The exact similar case as mine of another colleague of mine [Mr. Vivek Sharma – as mentioned in the initial mail] was resolved by you.


However, my case was not even considered.


I fail to understand this kind of non-uniformity in treating your customers.


In addition to that, as I had not submitted the Sep ’13 bill, you disconnected my phone.


You disconnected my phone at a time, when I was out of station and was in hospital to see my aunt, who was dying.


IDEA cellular bailed out on me  at a time, when I needed the phone the most to contact my relatives for a serious personal matter.


This action by IDEA was highly inconsiderate and thoughtless.


I am so disturbed by your actions.


I will ensure that, this incident of mine is heard by people of India – specifchandru021y existing  and would be IDEA customers.


Instead of resolving a genuine issue, you disconnect the customer’s connection – which is a very non-ethical matter.


I have taken a new connection, and I will be filing my case in consumer court.

Despite multiple mails and explanations from me to IDEA about my issue,


it seems to me that your company is not ready to listen and understand what my complaint is all about.


I have not denied that the download on my phone did not occurred.


I am not saying that. Yes, the download happened, and when I checked my data log on my phone, the downloading was there.


But, in case you guys have tried to read my mails properly, I am saying that I have not done that downloading.


The download happened in my phone despite the restrictions in my phone for Auto Updation.


And specifchandru021y, the download happened in the wee hours of the morning, for a number of days.


In summary, It was an unintentional download, and IDEA cellular definitely has a role to play in that.


You guys, cannot charge me for the Data Packets  sent forcibly on the customer’s cell phones.


I am not at all satisfied by the response of IDEA both over the phone and over the email.


Rajeev_Vermacially, over the phone, your representatives have been quite rude and simply dictate IDEA’s verdict,


rather than listening to my issue and trying at least to understand it.


I am really annoyed by all this waste of my time, due to your fault and negligence.


I am giving you this in writing, that I will not be paying this  month’s( October) bill of Rs.1842, until my issue is resolved, or at least heard and understood.


In case, you disconnect my phone, I will not only file a complaint against you and drag you to the consumer court, but also shift to some other operator.


And yes, I will provide you my new number on mail, just in case you guys feel like talking.


Just because IDEA is a big company, doesn’t means that it can do whatever it feels like with the customer.

HOW DARE YOU CHARGE US FOR THE FAULTY DOWNLOADS, THAT YOU MADE HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE.


THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE, AND SOMETHING WHICH REQUIRES  CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.


I want a reply from IDEA for the same.


Otherwise, I would be forced to go to the consumer court and also the police for the case of fraud.


I am sure, in case this issue becomes public, there will be many more people like us standing up to fight for the right cause.


And obviously, I will not be paying a single penny for this month’s bill, unless this issue is resolved and adjustments are made and I receive a response from you guys.
