Been with Idea pre-paid(Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Circle) for 5 months now and am totally satisified.
Here is the top most reason I would recommed Idea, among the well know pre-paid service providers, Idea has the most reasonable rate plans. For example, where Idea only charges INR 31 per month for INR1/min STD calls, Airtel and Vodafone charge INR 50. So Idea is a brilliant Idea especially for the student population.
Coverage is good, but not nearly as good as promised on all those ads you see, which by the way are really cool. The only down side is you need to make a call more than once to get through, the network is busy most of the time especially evenings and nights. And the signal strengh changes very often. One min it is max at the same spot and next minute it is the weakest, go figure that. But not too many call disconnects due to this so, I am not too worried or dissatisified.
Overall I would recommend this service, because it's plans are economic and attractive. And it's a good idea to get idea:)
