An idea can make your life worse:
Hi friends! Hope you all are fine. I have written my previous reviews in favor of some products. But this is pretty different and tells you about a bad cellular service, which I am using, and want to tell you people about it.
I have used three connections among all the major cellular services and the names are Essar-Prepaid (which is HUTCH now), AIRTEL Magic (Prepaid) and Idea (Pre-Paid and Post-Paid both). The first one was ESSAR (three years back when I brought my first cell phone) which was the best at that time but very costly.
Then came Airtel Magic (was very good and service was effective) and last but not the least Idea Chit-Chat (it was cost affective). I have not tried RELIANCE India Mobile and TATA INDICOM yet since my friends are using it and not very much happy with these two. But here I am talking about my own experience about Idea cellular in comparison with other two. Below some points are given to understand this clearly:
Cost:
Cost is equivalent to the other ones because everyone is here to make profit so prices always go up and down. When I started using idea they were offering 100 % talk time (after deducting tax) on pre paid connection. Then I converted it to post-paid and now pay 250 rupees as monthly rent.
Features:
Features are good and the menu is user friendly.
Voice clarity and connectivity:
Overall it is good but if are going to compare it with HUTCH and AIRTEL you will find idea at the last position. I always get complaints from my friends and relatives that they were trying my number but not able to get connected. I dont understand the reason behind this because my cell was always on. Idea has improved a lot but still far behind when it comes to connectivity.
Roaming Facility:
After Idea took over Escotel UP it has improved its roaming services. Idea offers two-way roaming which is very effective in big cities and towns but when go in a village or a bit rural area it does not work.
Billing:
This is the worst thing about idea. They just send a SMS saying your bill dated so and so of some amount has been dispatched but I never receive the monthly bills. I did not receive my monthly bill statements of four months continuously but had to pay the bill if I do not want my services to be discontinued.
My Problem:
Now I want to switch to some other (might be AIRTEL or HUTCH) but the problem is that so many people are having my idea number and switching over to other service means breaking some of my important contacts unknowingly. Can anybody suggest what can be done?
