I don't think the author is comprehensive enough to capture the core philosophy of ikigai. Even when they do research, the general findings are superficial and subjective. Reading past the first chapter was frustrating. I basically skipped the entire book. This book is a commentary on her own understanding and'what is ikigai'. If you're new to ikigai and looking for a decent primer, this is definitely not the book for you. I was hoping this book would focus on how to actually discover your ikigai, but it didn't.
