2005 August we bought an IFB front loading washing machine. The brand name is very strong and hence we decided to buy it. First signs of trouble showed up when it took them 3 days to install..... naive me... never smelt anything.
We live in an apartment where you get hard borewell water. So, within 1st year we had the first signs of trouble. The support guys came after lots of pleading and sold descalers to us. In between, there was some other issue which I cannot recollect, maybe regular trouble. So, they sold us an AMC. After that, they never showed up. Every time one had to plead for days (sometimes a couple of weeks), before "Lord Technician" would show up. Then as a blessing he would identify the fault and as a curse hand us a hefty bill. Few months later some other problem would show up. Same grind, same routine answers from their call centre, sir Mr.X or Mr.Y will call you back and then sannatta.
After spending some thousands, the lord spoke, your washing machine body is corroded. Please replace it. Rs. 4000/-. 2010 January, I decided, never again will I go for an IFB machine. Bought an LG this time. Guys came and installed it on the same day. IFB sure can make lesser known brands look different when it comes to service.
