Not just for machines that are past warranty, you need to be very careful about what the service franchisee puts in your machine.
To begin with, the did a lot of jostling with teh mother board of the machine. It finally worked, but only for two days.My 5 kg digital machine collapsed within 2 days of installation. the service guy came after 4-5 days and when he eventually replaced the part, it looked decidedly inferior (and looked very different as well) from the original part that he was replacing in the machine.
The machine did not work even with the 'new' part and the company says it will now replace the machine. I hope it happens. But there needs to be some mechanism of ensuring that the parts that the service franchisee replaces, are genuine. There is obviously a black market in the spare products.
I don't believe that the company is supplying spurious spares, but something is surely amiss.
