I bought this product in 2012 & I am from a district headquarter town. My parents were very reluctant to buy considering the poor after sales services in our region. At the time of buying, it came with a 4 year warranty and initially, some free visits were missed and the AMC visits started happening regularly only in the 4th year and hence my father was reluctant to take an AMC. And so, we skipped the AMC for 3 years. So, for a total of 7 years, we never had any problem with the machine and when we did have a repair, we took a 3 yrs AMC and got it repaired free. The amazing thing is that in the 9th yr [while under the AMC], the drum broke and the company changed it within 2 days free of cost with 5 service men working a total of 18 man hours because after installing the drum, then only they realised the motor had also burnt out AND THEY REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW MOTOR FREE UNDER THE AMC.
Now, despite the 10 years completing, they still allowed us to extend another 2 yrs of AMC, during which again, there were no problems and coming this June, 2024, we would have completed 13 years since buying and 1 year since the last AMC [because the model was no longer in production and hence, they did not give AMC].
Considering that this was my first washing machine, it was definitely more than I wished for and I am very thankful to IFB INDUSTRIES, not only for the product engineering BUT for bringing their work culture to India. NOT A SINGLE RUPEE PAID EXTRA.
Consider this, when we bought the machine, it was 22k and all the AMCs put together, another 10k, making a total of 32k with another 2k paid for parts not covered by AMC. Let us say a total of 35k and over 13 yrs, that comes to an expenditure of 2692 per annum.
