Horrible Internet Banking Experience, Stay Away!

I decided to go with IDBI bank last year for my startup. We opened a total of 5 accounts with them, one of them was a current account and the remaining were savings. Initially, we deposited Rs.10000 in every account during the account opening process. We were told that there will be no AMB requirement and they won't charge for non-maintenance. But, after a few months, they rolled out a new notice saying that all the accounts are required to maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 10000( for current account) and Rs. 5000( for savings account), which we found was highly unprofessional.


Considering the nature of our business, all our transactions are done online. So as a Web Design Company, our requirement was a swift internet banking experience. But, if you check IDBI's internet banking website, it is horrible in terms of UI and UX. Feels like they are working with a very unprofessional Web Design and Development company who don't know anything about Web Design standards. Awful and Unusable with those nasty popups coming on screen every time. For every small thing which we do, each time we have to enter the transaction password, Common Man! If for some reason, we forgot the password or ATM pin, we have to go to their bank and get the form filled and then we will receive the credentials in 5-7 days. Hilarious!


They are a worst bank when it comes to customer support and really don't respect the importance of time. After our account is opened with them, they don't even bother to care. They took nearly 2 months to send internet banking details to us. Our relationship manager was less knowledgeable person who had no idea about current accounts. He didn't even knew the procedures of opening a current account and ended up losing a lot of time for us.


Last but most important, you will hardly see any IDBI ATM's in the city. So, you will end up paying transaction fees once your transaction limit gets over. It was nightmare to choose this bank for my dream company, I have learned my lesson.


I would urge everyone to stay away from IDBI for any kind of banking services especially if you are looking for a smooth internet banking experience. I highly recommend to go with Kotak and IDFC bank.
