I am glad that most reviewers agree with what I came to write about.
I wanted to add some light on my recent experiences.
I have not been using my ICICI direct account for the last 6 months.not that I did not want to Invest but because of the horrid process they have and the horrible people they have employed.
I locked my account and to further complicate things my account status became "Deactive" as I understood.
To make the account active, I was advised by the phone banking dude to go to the nearest bank and so I went to the Tnagar branch of the ICICI bank where there was a DEMAT desk, on requesting the lovely lady there she said that all things in my account were perfect and asked me to go to the "Online trading office" . which happens to operate as a separate business in mount road, chennai .
So I went there to find out that the entire office went for a meeting elsewhere and a completely useless fellow was sitting there who was a glorified watch man. Now on giving him a piece of my mind he brought his manager who was smoking outside,
The manager now tells me that he cant help me and says that I have to request for a password to be delivered to my house and advises me to go to a different branch on mountroad for this.
At this point I nearly lost it and left the place. I got a call later from one candidate whom I encountered with . one Mr Kaushik in the online trading office who voluntered to help me with my password, after several failed attempts he too routed me to the phone banking center. I did finally place the request with a kind soul in the phone banking office and hope that I get my password someday.
My honest advise is that never ever go with ICICI direct because they do not really operate as a single brand and all of them(their units) dont give a damn about each other.
