Recounting my experience with ICICdirect over 3 years.
1) The website has always been quite slow. It has become even slower these times. I think it is because of the multiple Idirect a/c ICICI has sold without getting the IT Infrastructure in place.
2) Portfolio tracker page more often than not shows TPN-BEA error: No entries page. If you are not IT savvy and figure out that this is a system issue -- you might get a heart attack to see portfolio tracker showing ''no entries found''
3) There is no way you can give feedback about the site direct to the ICICIdirect. One always has to email feedback to their outsourced call center and you never get response on such communication
4) The ''best 5 quotes / best bid / quote'' page is outrageous. If I trade on BSE I keep the bseindia.com page open with the details on bid / quote / last traded price for a concerned price. You can not trust ICICIdirect quotes -- they are quite delayed and multiple times I have found them to be inaccurate.
5) The only thing I like about ICICIdirect is the smooth integration with the bank account. Managing money becomes easy.
6) For filing my tax returns I was looking for a report which would tell me how much is my short term capital gains -- there is no such report. I have requested that ICICIdirect should provide such a report as it would be very useful to its customers. Again -- I know there is no way I could get this feedback to the right folks within ICICIdirect who could do something about this feedback. The bottomline -- icicidirect doesn't listen to its customers -- and hence I am planning to move out of ICICIdirect. I am evaluating other online broking sites -- pls let me know if any body has already done the same.
