Well friend, weare in the same boat except that I invested far too much than this. After three years when I got the same shock, I switched to maximiser and my losses have become 2.5 times. I guess you need to wait for some time in maximise before your funds can come in green again and then immediately pull off your money and invest in stock market / MF instead.
Only positive thing is that I can take tax benefit from this poilcy and that is also yet to come. I have filed my returns this year with the premium receipts. God help them who invest in ICICI Prudential. Best way is to keep your insurance and investment seperate. I am regularly investing in stock market and I am assured that long term investment in stock market always reap benefits. While investing in this policy, the agent and the ICICI made tall claims that even in protector plan, 11 - 12 % of return is guaranteed. What they dont tell you are the hidden costs of administrative fee and all. They all are thieves, beware of them.
