I have applied for a ICICI i-protect policy 2 months ago. I was very lucky to withdraw the policy in time. After taking the policy, I didnt hear from them for a long time. When I use to mail customer service,
I use to get a pre-defined reply from Dimple A, that my issue is noted by them and they will revert back in 06 days. What ever you write in the mail you will get the same reply. She only changes the name and send the same reply to everybody.
After a week, I got a call from them saying that I need to go through medical tests.
I went through through the tests. Again they called and said that they have not received the documents which scanned copy I sent. After repeated sends, also they don't get the documents. I repeatedly call the customer care but everything in vain.
Now comes the most interesting part, after 25 days of applying for the policy,
I get a call from ICICI Prudential, they said that I have been found positive in a couple of medical tests as a result my premium will be increased. Upon asking they said I have been found positive for tobacco test (they have found tobacco in my urine test). I have not taken any form of tobacco in my life.
They almost doubled my premium by giving this reason. At the same instant I withdrew my policy, if they are doing such activities before giving policy what they will do if there is a claim...You can think off....
Don't get trapped by their low premium promises...It always better to go with LIC. Private Insurance company sucks....
