I raised a proposal of ICICI PRU IPROTECT SMART policy from ICICI prudential with term insurance and critical cover each of 20 lakhs. The proposal number is OS04901516. I paid a premium of Rs 14622 / annum. I went though medical tests and the report was ok. The underwriter revised the premium rate to 18886/annum . As per the underwriter, I am over weight and thus the premium charges are increased. My heogjt is 6 feet and weight is 95 Kgs. My questions are
Neither by sales person, nor in product leaflet/brochure, it is shown that body weight is a deciding factor in calculation of premium . So how now the premium rate be increased based on body weight. When asked to the sales person in case by body weight would decrease in future so would premium decrease, he was speechless
This is unethical way for doing business by which ICICI extorts money from innocent customers. I am applying for refund of premium amount under protest after wasting time and energy for 1 month . Such acts are ruining the brand name like ICICI and would like to stay away from doing business with it.
