I don't want to comment upon the performance of ICICI prudential investment services as it remains to be seen what returns we get. However, I do want to comment upon the outright dishonest cheats sent as agents who will sweet talk their way into old people's gullible instincts and get them to sign on to schemes that were not intended.
My dad wanted to invest only 2 lakhs(total) and made that very clear to the agent. Despite that, the agent made out a policy requiring 2 lakhs per annum for a minimum of 3 years(ie., 6 lakhs commitment). Obviously he did this to pad his own commissions. There was no scope of misunderstanding here as my dad had made it repeatedly clear that 2 lakhs is all he had for investment. By the time we found out the actual clauses of this policy, it was too late. Hopefully, we will recover the money if we somehow invest the 6 lakhs now(i.e, we are being forced to invest in this scheme more money than we wanted to). Either we have to do that or we risk losing the 2 lakhs already invested.
Complaints to ICICI bank about the agent falls on deaf ears. They are probably glad their agent was able to sucker my dad into this. The agent of course is no where to be contacted now.
Bottom line - ICICI AGENTS ARE CROOKS ! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
