This is a very bad experience I had with ICICI. I got an ICICI credit card before 4 months. After which I got continuous calls from ICICI customer care. One person from ICICI(named Prakash) called me, he asked me all details about me( my address, mailing of statements, all such things) as if he called me for my own benefit.


I answered all his question patiently. He then started telling about the health insurance card which I can use for my Mom. I told him that am busy and asked him to call later. But he forced me saying it would take only 10 minutes. So I said yes. Then he started explaining me in a high speed(stating the exception diseases of the health card). I said I am not able to get all those diseases (of course, I am not a doctor to understand them by just hearing it. that too in a very great speed he spoke.


I said it would be fine if I get documents to read it. He said I will get the documents only if I accept the policy. I said I cant accept it without consulting my parents. He said that should not at all be a problem, and that I can cancel it at any point of time without any cancelation charge. I said ok and that I wil get back later. But he forced me and transfered the cal to Mumbai ICICI. I was not even aware that I am confirming the policy.


I thought in order to get those documents, I am confirming. And I can confirm later after receiving those documents.


Even to the executives at Mumbai, I said the same thing that I wanted to discuss  with my parents. She said "I think you are not clear with the policy. So I am transferring the call back to Chennai.Just clear your doubts."


I said "Please am busy now...Lets have the call later"


She said " That cannot be done. This has to go in a process. And it has to end."


Then she transfered the call to Chennai(Prakash). And then he started shouting to me saying "Please don't ask any doubts to them. Just confirm"


I said "i dint ask any doubt. I just said I wanna confirm it with my parents" and what is there in that. He said :"Just say yes and then I wil receive the documents.And I can cancel it if I do not want without cancellation charge."


On receiving the documents, I found out "They have everythin as exceptions.... No use of it actually". I called up ICICI (same person Prakash... he gave me his number). But I got a reply saying "Its not prakash and shouted saying not to call continuously like this" (actually I called only once)


I was shocked with this and I called ICICI customer care, where they told me that I have to pay 25 %, which I was really shocked.


Three ways they cheat us:




  1. They purposely read the exceptions in a very high spees making us not at all understand.




  2. And never accept any policy through phone. Any bank, any policy (get it done by person or read about them in Net)




  3. They do all such things in a hurry so that we don't understand anything( I told them to call me later and now am busy.






Never believe the customer care representatives. This has been done to many of my friends. Now 25 % of my policy is my loss
