I think in this maze of cheating and fleecing the customers...if there is a company which ranks numero uno it is the icici lombard health insurance company. I got this done for my parents who were proceeding overseas ... a tourist trip to canada.The marketing personnel was extremely courteous and he became a sort of family member for my old parents till the time they bought his policy. So far so good. My parents went to Canada but as luck would have it my father developed a chest pain and had to be hospitalized. Luckily for my parents my uncle took care of my father and his hospitalization.


Well ICICI LOMBARD was contacted. Initially there was no contact with them since they never could be connected at any time of the day or night. With great difficulty they could be contacted and they dropped one bombshell after another. Firstly they brought out that my father was not eligible for the insurance....just imagine just 15 days before the insurance has been done specifically for the foreign trip and now the company showed extreme reluctance to pay the claim and leave aside any other courtesies to be extended....


for 5 months my parents both in their old age had to run pillar to post and finally when the company was threatened with dire circumstances they paid the claim. However they still did not pay for the consultation of the fees of the doctor without assigning any reasons. I'm planning to take some legal action against the company but then the process becomes too tedious. However one thing is absolutely clear the company's true worth is known only when the claims are settled speedily and correctly.


I think this company is actually taking advantage of the ignorance of the customers and lax customer service rules...
