Recently I took Health Booster Super Top up Health Insurance from ICICI Lombard. Before taking it, a informed ICICI Lombard to mention the below diseases as pre-existing diseases- Gallbladder surgery, Gastritis, Prostate congestion, Fatty liver.
I did not find the medical documents for my Gallbladder surgery. I asked them to contact medical test for me if required. However, they did not conduct any medical test and issued the policy. In the policy paper, I found only Cholecystectomy(Gallbladder surgery) is mentioned.
Seeing this, I have several times contacted ICICI Lombard through different channels to mention rests of the diseases. But ICICI Lombard is bluntly refusing to add other pre-existing diseases.
They are saying without medical papers, they cannot add any pre-existing diseases. But how did they add Cholecystectomy(Gallbladder surgery) in the documents? I did not submit any medical papers for my surgery. It is very clear that they have updated pre-existing diseases according to their wish.
I know if pre-existing diseases are not properly updated, many private insurance companies take this advantage and dishonors genuine claims saying that pre-existing diseases were not properly updated .
If ICICI Lombard did not have my medical paper, then why did they issue my policy without any medical test? I even did not submit any medical report of my Gallbladder Surgery. So, how did they update it?
It is very clear with the malice intention to reject my claim in future they have issued my policy. So, I already reported this unfair practice to IRDA. I also made a cancellation request asking full refund of the money I paid . I am waiting for the resolution. It is very sad to see how this type of private insurance company is misleading customers to plan to dishonor claims in future.
