I bought ICICI Insurance in India for my mom as she was visiting me in Boston USA. I guess was the biggest mistake I ever madeWhen I bought the insurance I was told that all I would have to do is call a 1-866 # and they would take care of everything.But after my mom got dischared the ICICI Lombard folks wanted me to go to the hospital and get her medical record information and fax it to them. I go to the hospital and tell them that the insurance company asked me to do so. The Accounts person at the Hospital told me that by Law Insurance company would have to give in a written letter for the hospital to release the information. I call ICICI Lomard and tell them to get in touch with the hospital and the rep tells me that I will have to do it and she would not. I wonder why ICICI dosen't want to do that. Infact the hospital authorities also told me ICICI wasnt responding to any of their letters. When I called ICICI and told her why she was not responding and stated what all was promised at the time of selling the Insurance she promptly replied that ICICI was in INDIA and they cared less about it as they were a speperate entity. My moms Bill is over $5000and I dont know what to do, cos the hospital is now sending in the bills to a collection Agency.
