My advice - PLEASE AVOID ONLINE TRANSACTION WITH ICICI LOMBARD. They can't track your payment. They can't track even the cover-note. You will be surprised later on that the policy document you carry is invalid. They don't accept the cover-note, mail confirmation or payment proof to defend your argument!
I'm an ICICI lombard customer since 7 years, as usual I renewed my car policy online on 19-Jun-17 using the link "https://icicilombard.com", and received the cover note(W-59279928) both by SMS and email. My policy expires on 22-Jun.
As policy document was not generated even after 3 days, I approached Lombard customer care and raised a ticket 22062017333 on 22-Jun-17. They said they will check to find why the policy was not generated. I did a follow-up call on 6-Jul-17 and surprised to know that they couldn't find my cover-note and payment information in their system! My bank transaction(ICICI debit card) shows "ICICI Lombard" as merchant. I renewed the policy by loging into the website "https://icicilombard.com" .
Lombard's IT team is very pathetic, they don't know how to handle this situation. They can't track the payment. How a cover-note can be generated without valid payment! I forwarded the mail I received from Lombard containing the cover-note to lombard customer care, for which they are not responding. I asked them whether I need to take another policy, they don't have any answer. If cover-note is not valid, that means policy is not effective. Lombard is not giving me any suggestion. I'm feared to take my car out. I lodged a dispute with my banker for the transaction in question.
Please be warned about ICICI Lombard while renewing policy online.
