Talk of false promises and a sure shot let down on faith and the topper would be La bike.
I had applied for a home loan through La bike and when all documentation etc was complete, the agent (Sandeep) urged me to take disbursement on the 26th of the month. I was also told a pre-EMI would be applicable. I did not want to take the disbursement since paying pre-EMI was not my fancy. Sandeep pleaded saying it would help meet his targets and offered paying part of the pre-EMI. I did not consent and finally he promised to get the entire EMI reimbursed by his office. I knew there was a strong likelihood of getting duped but for the benefit of doubt, agreed. This was in Jan 2005 and as I write this review a year down and hundreds of phone calls, there has been disappointment that someone who claimed to be poor and needy has come to take a stand of accusing me of lying!
While the services were okay, I think this aspect of the pre-EMI and subsequent communication with folks like Sandeep, Abhijeet, Prashant and Manoj have left a sour taste to the experience. Perhaps the lesson learnt is not to have a human approach to financial aspects.
