I have been a customer with ICICI bank for the last 8 years or so. I never write reviews, but this time I was forced to because I don't want any of my fellow indians to get trapped the way I was. Here are few examples:
I wanted to transfer my NRE account to from one branch (a far off place from my home town to a local branch). They said it it's a done deal. they took my check book etc and asked me to come back after a week. When I went there after a week, they said that the account couldn't be transferred for different reasons and at the same time they said they have destroyed my check book in anticipation that the account will get transferred (ridiculous !!). It took me more than week to get a new check book and that too after leaving India.
ICICI Money2India sucks even more. I requested them for a statement of one my transaction back in 2006 (because the same is not available online). After spending almost 3 hours with different customer service representatives, I couldn't get them convinced to service the request. They keep insisting on emails. ridiculous ! buerocracy ? living in old days ? Thay don't have the right to claim as "Indian face of global banking". Its a shame for all indians.
Requested for home loan. they said it will be done in few weeks. Few months passed, no success. Interestingly, they never say "NO". They will ask you to come next day and they have a different answer for the next day. How ridiculous !!
