I am having a savings account with this bank at Langford Road Branch, Bangalore where my salary is been credited from my company every month. So far I never had any issues or problems with this bank, it all statred from yesterday 26th Jun, when I get a message on my mobile number from this bank saying my salary is been credited and there is a difference values mentioned in 'Available Balance' and 'Total Available Balance' - for the first time I saw there were 2 different figures, wondering and I logged in to my net banking and to my surprise see Rs 45000/- was kept on hold and blocked !!!!
When called the phone banking officer and explained the concern, he transfered the line to the higher concerned person after a long anxious hold the person who came online claimed that I had an outstanding on a credit card !!! which I never had one from this bank at any point of time earlier. when told the same thing he says my name and date of birth is been matched with some person who had an outstanding in the credit card during the year 2001, and they assumed its me and blocked 45000 Rs...!!!!
I expressed my concern to this person from the bank over the phone that I never had any credit card from ICICI bank in the past and also I dont have credit card from any other banks...and I dont owe any money to this bank.
finally he says it would take about a week's time to re-investigate this case from the bank and till then I had to wait to know whether my money will get released or not. As of now my Rs 45000/- is stuck with them and I have no idea how to get this back...and where to go.
Being a biggest bank in India, this bank follow cheap methods and go ahed according to their will and wish to block somebody's hard earned money for some stupid reason like name and date of birth matched with some defaulter....
My simple question to this bank, if I am the defaulter and owe money to this bank why should I open my salary account with the same bank (my account is operative with this bank since 2 years now). So guys please do double check your account and amount deposited in this bank since the bank can just go ahead and take anyone's money to anyone's account and the innocent customer like me suffers. Finally the bank told me to wait till 3rd of July which I will do and if the issue doesnt get resolved I would move to the Consumer Court. Please do take care of your hard earned mondy deposited in this stupid bank
