I have applied a loan from ICICI bank of Rs. 54000/- as I was planning to purchase a bike. I chose ICICI bank because I thaught that their support is one of the best in India by seeing their ads in newspapers, TV , etc.
I called up the ICICI bank agent and he came to my office to collect the documents ( could not come to my house as they told that it will take more time if they come to my house). I gave them all the documents like salary slip(3 months), bank statement(3 months), appointment letter, confirmation letter, DL Xerox, Address proof, Employment proof (after giving appointment letter and confirmation letter xerox also), Birth proof, photo , etc. I applied the loan on the 8th of December, 2004, and gave all the documets also. They promised me that the loan will be processed in 3 working days and I will get the cheque on the 4 th working day.
Then came my night mare!!!!!! I call up the agent on 11th December and asked about when I will get the cheque. He told me that everything was done, I asked about why the Bank has not come yet to my house to verify the address. He told me that as it is the end of the month (11th is the end of the month) and a lot of work pressue so they will not do the verification, they will just call me up and verify my number. It smelt fishy. Still I trusted them.
Then they told me that they will verify the address from my office, which they have not done. Then they gave me a LAME excusee that as I am a bachelor, so they will come to my house for the verification. They told this on 15th of December. A man came at 6 o'clock 17th december to VERIFY my address. He came and while he was standing outside the house, asked me some silly questions, like my age, my salary, my company, etc and was gone in 5 mins.
Then I called up the agent again, he told that I will get the cheque by saturday evening ot by monday morning. And now I tried to call up the bank and the agent for atleast for as many times as possible, but, the bank tells that please wait for some time and the agent's phone is either not reachable, or he is not picking up the phone.
Now it is Tuesday, 21st December, 8:30 AM and still no news.
I planned twelve days in advance as I wanted to buy the bike on my birthday which was on 20th December, and due to ICICI bank my birthday plans were totally ruined. Now if I get the loan now also, I will not be able to boy my birthday present for myself.
I am literally pissed off with the service I got from ICICI bank.
I think to harass people their motto is ''Hum Hain Na''. Did I made a mistake by applying the loan from ICICI bank.
I will never ever tell my greatest enemy also to take a loan from ICICI bank.
Now its upto you all to comment shall I cancel the loan from them and take the loan from any other bank as the only purpose of taking the loan has failed?
