No wonder, it's name itself contains too many 'I''s...so much egoistic. You can imagine when they give you an age old dot-matrix printout of the bank's statement (when you go to the bank and ask them for previous month's statement) and charge you Rs. 25 per page as service charge for it. The printout also was not very clear. Even the schools nowadays have good laser printers.
I had to ask them for a laser printout and reluctantly they gave it. So much for their service and their attitude towards their customers who have account(s) in their bank.
I heard nowadays PSU banks have improved their service a lot than previous years. I would in fact advice people to avoid such banks altogether and go in for banks like State Bank of India and other banks which provide good customer service and also are amiable to customers.
I opened an account with this bank because this is where my company credits my salary. But, I would personally not opt for this bank given its attitude towards customers.
I would recommend this bank only to the corporates and other individuals who can put up with all such service charges and poor customer service and delays in handling cases.
