I want to share some bad experience I had with icici bank from where i took a home loan. at the time of application for loan, I specifically denied their offer of insurance from icici lombard. but after one month of disbursement of loan I came to know that an amount of rs. 18100/- has been debited to loan principal by way of issuing a seperate cheque to icici lombard from icici home loan dept. till that day I was totally ignorant of this policy. the banks executive did it very tactically by inserting insurance application papers in between home loan application papers and got my signature under the presumption that those are required for documentation and mortgage. Proffessional cheating. what else.

i booked complaints/requests through icici phone banking for reversal of said insurance premium. All I received was a complaint booking no. whenever I make a follow up call for my complaint by quoting the complaint ref no. I get an immediate reply "our server is down, please call after 1 hr or so".
As regards the banks customer service:- I was told to visit the branch where I took the loan for change of address application.(Remember we are in the era of global banking, multi city banking and netbanking; secondly, this is a very common precidents that a customer taking home loan will buy a new flat and move in to that flat has to change his correspondence address). I visited the branch and made the request for change of address. Officer fed new address data in their computer and offfered me a request ref no. and assured the address will be changed in 14 working days. After 2 months I found that my address is not changed. when contacted the bank I was told to do the application once again. I visited the branch once again, met the same officer and made a fresh request for change of address and waiting till today for any confirmation from bank for the effect of change of address.(Better you read 14 working days in icici bank as 14 celender years)
